Chapter Nineteen

Caitlyn

I cannot believe I have managed to sleep half the day away, especially with everything going on. I still feel exhausted and my body is tired from all the stress, but I need to put on my happy face for Carrie. She was worried when I picked her up. She came running down the porch throwing herself at me.

We waited for Cage to return before we left together. When he arrived, Carrie, again, threw herself at him. He didn’t even get to say a word before she barrelled a bunch of questions off to him, asking him where he was this morning. He answered her as honestly as he could too, bless him. We headed back to the cabin after saying bye to Haley and Roy, where we all had lunch together, then settled down for a movie. We ended up watching Frozen, again. I swear I know the words by heart, the amount of times I’ve watched it. Plus my daughter is always singing ‘do you want to build a snow man’ which doesn’t help, because once she starts, I’ll have it in my head for the rest of the day. I really wish Disney didn’t make such addictive songs. I cannot name one Disney movie that hasn’t got a catchy song in it.

Cage as always, has been attentive all afternoon. I can see him now and again in the corner of my eye watching me, like he’s waiting for me to break down or something. It may be because he’s worried I haven’t forgiven him for his antics this morning, when I have. I forgave him before I even realised it.
